The great fulfilment of life

A lost soul- A 37-year-old Sammi Cheng describes the woman she once was. "I joined the entertainment world in my teens. I made lots of money and owned lots of things in the course of just few years," she recalls. "Then I could no longer find my way around in the vanity fair."

"I was used to a certain value system; I thought the value of my existence depended on success and achievement. When I came to possess all those things, I felt hollow inside," she says.

A new perspective
On Dec 9, 2007, Sammi was baptised as a Christian and started finding joy in giving back to society. She has visited the the less fortunate in Africa, Laos, Mongolia and Sichuan and sponsored more than 10 poor children.

"I love praying with people around me, and love praying for others... Nothing conveys our love better than praying on someone's behalf."

"I've learned to accept what life holds for me with composure. People ask me about marriage. I would say: it could be today, or when I am 40, whenever, as God would have it. I have no worries as I entrust myself into His care," she says. "Now, I wake up everyday find I like myself, despite all my shortcomings."
